Permit to Work System
Improve safety and lower risk. For all types of hazardous work, such as working at height, confined space entry, hot and cold work, and excavations, our Permit to Work system offers the best solution.
WHAT IT DOES...
Our Permit to Work system comes preconfigured with 4 modules. They can be used individually or in collaboration with each other
PERMIT MODULE
Create permits to work, upload relevant documentation and submit them for approval.
Add your own worksites and contractor companies. Confirm a site visit has taken place, all relevant documentation is in place and approve Permit to Work. Set up different levels of users and approvers. Sign-off is restricted to authorized users.
Display permits at the worksite / control room using our electronic permit to work board. The virtual Permit Board is a core element of the permit to work system. It is based on the permit boards found in site offices. It shows all current permits on one screen, and can be viewed from anywhere.
This allows management an overview of all permits across the whole worksite. Management will be able to spot potential conflicts between ongoing jobs and manage risks better.
ISOLATIONS MODULE
The Isolation module is an optional add-on to Pisys Permit to Work.
Isolations are visible on Plot Plans of a company’s sites, providing true visualization of the environment. Keep track of physical isolations, which have been, or are planned to be, put in place at the worksite using a hardware lock-out/tag-out system.
View all current and long-term isolations from anywhere with internet access rather than having to visit the local control room. The Isolation entry screen is a highly customizable form where the fields, columns and workflow can be changed to meet the needs of the business. View all Permits connected with an Isolation and navigate to the permit with a simple mouse click.
There are various workflows that can be enabled and they include Sanction to Test and Long-Term Isolations. Users can interact with isolations at various stages of the isolations workflow (e.g. create, approve, close). There is a full history log of all the approvals, emails sent out and changes to the data within the Isolation Module.
CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT MODULE
The Permit to Work system keeps track of your company requirements, saves copies of their certificates, and flags up expiry/renewal dates using the Contractor Management Module.
Whole contractor companies and/or individual personnel are approved to work on certain types of Permits or locations, and their competencies recorded before the work begins.
You can save contractors’ certificates and certificate expiry dates. This will help you check that contractors’ certificates are still valid before they start work.
Specify what documents are required for each type of contractor. This will allow the system to prompt for these certificates every time a new contractor is added.
Assign approved Contractor Companies to one or more of your locations. This will help you ensure that only authorised contractors perform work on your premises.
TASK RISK MANAGEMENT MODULE
Task Risk Management is a useful way to integrate the principles of task analysis into a wider risk management process. We believe that there are significant benefits to taking a task based approach, prioritised around process safety risks. Properly implemented and supported by best in class tools, the way human factors and process risks are understood and managed can be significantly improved.
As in all our products, Task Risk Management focuses on accessibility and ease of use.
At the top level we define an activity and the job steps associated with the task including hazards associated with the job step. We also define the severity and likelihood associated with the risk pre-mitigation. Controls are applied to mitigate the risk. Finally we set the post-mitigation likelihood and severity after controls are applied.
This provides an accessible Risk Assessment method statement (RAMS) that can be used within the Permit to Work system.
FULLY CUSTOMISABLE
Pisys Permit to work system is fully customisable and supports compliance with HSE/ISO/OHSAS Standards. It can be adapted to support your existing Control of Work or HSE Management System and is compatible with HSE Guidance on Electronic Permit to Work Systems, as per HSG250. and because existing control of work systems can be transferred onto PTW, set-up & training times are kept to a minimum. Our Permit to Work system integrates with the Action Tracker and Task Risk Manager modules of the Pisys 360 Suite.
